After seeing several motorhomes, Bella and Belie finally settled on one. Thanks to their parents, they had enough money to purchase a good, luxury motorhome, more than enough to keep them comfortable on all of their adventures. Big dreams ran through Bella's mind as they walked through their choice motorhome. There were enough bunks for if they were to ever have guests accompany them. Or even visitors. They bunks were even surprisingly comfortable.
Their adventures could be endless in this vehicle. Surely, they could go into the middle of nowhere and still be okay. Beaming, Bella sat down behind the wheel. The purchase had been made, and they were just about ready to go once the vehicle was finished being inspected. Belie sat in the passenger's seat, going on about how awesome their new motorhome was. Bella smirked. "So what do you say about heading to Entre Rios for some more sights and adventures?" she asked Belie. Eagerly, Belie nodded her head. Bella grinned. "Okay then. Let's head to your dad's villa and pack some food and such. Oh and I just have to quickly say goodbye to Adam." Belie rolled her eyes, making Bella nudge her. Before they left the vehicle, they took another long look their home away from home. It was perfect.

Bella was silent for most of the flight to New York. Beside her, Belie sat, doodling in her sketchbook. Part of Bella wanted to go right back home, or perhaps travel elsewhere. But how long could she run away from facing her brother. The one who'd always looked out for her. Who she'd shut out of her life despite his constant kindness. She wanted a fresh start with him; a clean slate. It meant explaining everything to him... everything.
As the plane touched down, Bella swallowed the hard lump in her throat. It would be okay, she tried to convince herself. She checked herself and Belie into a hotel room and explained to Belie that there was something she had to do. A train ride and a short walk later, she arrived at Rico and Ceci's apartment. She rang the doorbell, and soon, her brother's familiar face stood before her. She briefly read the look of surprise on his face before she said, "There's something I need to tell you..." She rubbed her bleary eyes and looked at her alarm clock. 04.00. Rolling her eyes fondly, Bella sat up in bed. Her injured leg ached as it did everyday. She rubbed her stiff muscles and managed to climb out of bed. It was against her doctor's orders that she should already go on such a strenuous trip. After almost a year of being in a full leg cast, her muscles had degenerated and she was still in rehabilitation, but no one was going to keep her from living her life. Not after she'd almost lost it.
Eventually, she freshened up, got dressed, and grabbed her backpack. She met Belie in the living room and followed the delicious breakfast aromas to the kitchen. "I made pancakes!" Belie chirped. Bella grimaced. How could anyone be so cheerful so early? Yet, she was still grateful. "Thanks." "Hey, what are apprentices for?" Belie teased. Bella couldn't help but laugh. "Still going to follow me on these adventures after I proved I'm... potentially insane?" she asked. "Yup," said Belie, serving the pancakes. Bella smiled. "Come on," she said, once they finished eating. "We better get to the bus terminal." They grabbed their backpacks and caught a cab to the bus terminal. On the way there, Bella's mind wandered. By the goddess, she hoped this would give her a fresh start, so to speak. These quests... she hoped it would be just the start she needed to achieve her dream. It would probably be a slow, frustrating process, she thought. But it had to be done. "Thanks for coming with me," she told Belie as they finally arrived at the bus terminal. "First stop, Stonehenge. This is just the start." (TBC) Bella lay on her back, staring up at the ribbons of colour playing in the sky. What a beautiful sunset to behold. Beside her, Belie sat, the sound of her pen scratching against her notebook made Bella chuckle. "Can't you just relax for a moment, Belie?" she asked her apprentice. She nudged her and after a few moments, there was silence.
Around them, the wind caressed the grass and nearby, a bird sang a song of serenity. There was something about this place that brought absolute peace. It had been hours since Bella had even through of having a smoke. She's barely felt a twinge of pain in her leg, she'd neglected to think about all the unfortunate events that had already occurred in her young life. Perhaps there was more to this life. Perhaps it wasn't all negative, and perhaps she didn't have to go through this life fighting, literally and figuratively. It was amazing the lengths she'd gone through to find some meaning in her life. The illegal fighting rings, she rebellion, the attempt at total polygamy? Who was she kidding? She was still unsure of just what it meant to be in a committed relationship, but even when she claimed to be polygamous, had she once dared to warm someone else's bed? Who was she? "Bella?" Belie quietly questioned beside her. "Yeah?" "What are you thinking?" Bella went silent. She rolled onto her stomach with a sigh. It dawned on her how much Belie looked up to her; both as an older sister and as a teacher. She doubted that she had the ability to be a proper role model, but Belie saw something in her that no one else saw. She saw the real Bella crying out for freedom, even when everyone else saw the crazy girl that flung herself off a balcony. But... was she the only one? Isa had gotten her back on her feet and had even encouraged her to go on a friendly date. She wished she could see what her loved ones saw in her. "I'm thinking how grateful I am to be alive," she replied. Leaning up against the side of the building, Bella took another long drag on her cigarette. Just to calm her nerves. She figured it was about time she at least attempted to live a normal life. After dinner with Ayden, she knew she could at least appear normal. Now it was time to get a job; something to fund her plan of action. She couldn't keep schmoozing off her parents, could she.
After a while, she ground her cigarette into the concrete and grabbed her crutch. She hobbled farther down the road until she spotted the Help Wanted sign she saw just the other day. Still there, thank goodness. Taking a deep breath, she tried balancing on her good leg before attempting to pull the door opened, but it seemed to open on its own. A kind-looking man stood on the other side, his massive hand keeping the door ajar. He smiled at Bella, but she could only return half a smirk. Muttering a word of thanks, she entered the restaurant and walked towards the counter, requesting whoever was in charge. Moments later, while she awaited this man in charge, she was approached by the man himself. She leaned off the wall. "How may I help you?" the boss inquired. "I'm not the best people person, I do have a few injuries yet to fully heal, I have a low tolerance for crap, and I'm pretty much awful to be around these days, but I am a very good cook. I don't necessarily like to bake, but I find it rather therapeutic. At least my closest friends say that my food and baked good taste very good. And... I really need something to work towards. My life... is spiraling out of control before my very eyes. You're in need of help and so am I. So... help me help you? The boss eyed her for a moment before a small smile curved around his lips. "When can you start?" he asked. "Splash challenge," she mumbled, scoffing at the mirror as she fussed over her hair. Her wrist still ached with the slightest of movements, making her wince as she tried to comb through knots upon knots. It was Isa who rescued her in the midst of a long string of expletives.
"You ought to wash your mouth out with some soap," Isa told her. Bella rolled her eyes, but she caught a trace of a smile playing across Isa's lips. It seemed anything she said made people smile these days. She guessed that's what happened when you kept silent for so long. There were still moments when she wanted to bury her words deep inside again, but tonight was not the night. Tonight, she'd attempt to be a normal person. Even if it took turning down a Splash Challenge to get her to go out. "I look bloody awful with this frickin' cast on my entire leg," she whined. "You look great," Isa said dismissively. "I look like crap." Isa sighed. "Bella, you look fine. And isn't this just a skating buddy of yours? He'd probably just be impressed to see you in a dress anyway." "I'm only wearing this stupid dress because nothing else fits over this ridiculous thing on my leg." Now it was Isa's turn to roll her eyes. "Oh come on." Bella kept her lips shut. "Bella, I'm happy you're going out with a friend. It'll be good for you." Bella's lips remained sealed. She wanted to admit she was nervous. When was the last time she'd been in public, apart from visiting the shrink or the hospital? What if she couldn't carry on a normal conversation anymore? What if her leg decided to give in? What if she looked like a total idiot? What if she had a relapse and suddenly became manic again? What if?! "I need a smoke," she muttered. She grabbed her crutches and moved out of her bedroom as fast as her good leg could take her. |
