I know this isn't very original, as it is one of the most famous paintings ever, but I don't know much about art. I researched famous artists on Google and came upon Mr. Vincent van Gogh. The name of this piece is entitled "Starry Night over the Rhone." It caught my eye because it just looked so peaceful. I like the way the stars are reflected in the water, and it made me think.. There is something magical about starry nights. At times, a starry night can make you believe in dreams and wishes come true. So for me, this is my favourite painting. Comments #1. It doesn't have to be "original", Isabella. we all are the best art critic for ourselves. I like Van Gogh's works too. And you are right, there is something in starry nights. Good job, Bells!

It's funny you chose this song, Mrs Exile, because I think it does probably describe me the best. This song is talking about not growing up and accepting responsibility, and about not conforming to "normal" things. I like being different, and not doing what all my other peers do. To me, it's good to be unique, but it seems like most people just want to conform to the norm so that they fit in. Yet, I would rather not lose the real me just to fit in. Okay the first two songs describe me pretty well. 1. Run the World (Girls) by Beyoncé ▶ιllιlı 2. Take Me Away ▶ ιllιlı I like electronica a lot, and this last song is just so fun to dance to. Right now it's on replay on my iPod! 3. On the Floor ▶ιllιlı Comments #1. Great songs, all of them. Grrrl power, eh, Bella? *smiles* Thank you for doing your homework.
Skyler Exile #2. But of course! We run the world! *grins* Isabella Dwyer #3. True, true. *smiles* Skyler Exile Bella glanced at her BFF who was fast asleep on the couch. Curiosity was hammering at her mind like a woodpecker and she could no longer take it. Going into her school bag, she withdrew the book she'd purchased days ago from the book shop. She returned to her sleeping bag on the living room floor and placed the book in her lap. As she lifted the cover, it seemed to weight a ton. How could something so... fascinating feel so... wrong? What was she big taboo about "it" anyway?
Using her cell phone as a light to illuminate the pages, she let her eyes slide over the words and the images. They made her feel... strange. Though she was mostly entrapped by her curiosity. She had so many questions, so many things that she wanted to understand. Was it wrong? She shut the book quickly, slipped it underneath the couch, and lay on her back. Her mum had given her "the talk" last year, and she knew the mechanics about "it", but still, she couldn't understand the big deal. Yet somehow, her curiosity was on overdrive. Maybe there was more to "it" that she would understand later... No-no-no-no-no.... she thought, running into her bedroom. She slammed the door, locking it behind her. She stood in front of the full-length mirror, glaring at her reflection. Whyyyy did she feel so strange? Suddenly, there was all of this... curiosity... and weird changes... Maybe something was wrong with her? She frowned and leaned closer to the mirror, staring at her eyes. She watched them shift from a pale blue to a grey. Chameleon eyes... If only she could adjust to everything else so easily. Now her body was changing? AGAIN? Ugh! She stepped back, looking at her newly blossoming curves. Was there a way to stop it? Oh Kobe, she hoped it would all stop. She didn't want to grow up! Comments #1. I'm coming to you Bellaaaaa!
Isabella van Loon-Jones #2. Nooooo, you don't have to! Isabella Dwyer #3. Too late, already on my way! Isabella van Loon-Jones #4. Ok, well I know I cant stop you when you really want to do something. Isabella Dwyer #5. *giggles* No? Isabella van Loon-Jones #6. Nope! You're stubborn Isa. Isabella Dwyer #7. So are you! Isabella van Loon-Jones Heart of Courage Young Catharina had finally found the courage to run off… or as it cowardice disguised as courage? It was unfair that her brother could become a knight, yet she was left to the cooking and sewing. She didn’t want to be a domestic. She wanted to protect. These lands were strange lands. From the beautiful waters to the sunny weather. It was much unlike her homeland. Cath continued to wander off through the forests, going deeper and deeper as night fell. Meanwhile, her parents sent out a search team to find her. Cath shivered, hugging herself against the elements as she travelled. The eerie sound of the night made the hair at the back of her neck stand on end. How foolish of her to have run off that way. She continued, now seeking refuge for the night. Finally, she came upon a cave. As she entered, she discovered that it was the home to a lake. She took one step and fell into the cool waters, gasping for air as she resurfaced. For the remainder of the night, she remained, huddled against the cave wall, listening to the howl of the air through the cave. That night, she found no sleep… she remained awake until the first rays of the sun shone down into the cave. As the sun rose higher, it cast brighter light onto the lake. It was beautiful. Cath’s eyes opened widely in awe as she stepped closer to the waters. As she gazed into its depths, she heard a screech echo through the cave. She looked up towards the source and spotted a strange creature walking towards her. It had the body of a lion and the head of an eagle. Its two front legs ended in talons while its hind legs bore claws. Cath screamed and began backing away from the creature. Suddenly, wings unfolded from its feline body, and immediately, Cath’s hand went to the sword at her waist. The griffon flew at Cath with another horrifying screech. She fought and struggled as the creature landed on her chest and repetitively snapped at her with its large beak. The soldiers of the watch who were searching for her, heard her struggle and ran into the cave. Noticing the danger Cath was in, one of the soldiers fired an arrow into the griffin’s backside only to have the creature turn on them. As the griffin turned, rearing on its hind legs, Cath swung her sword and chopped its head off. In that moment, the horrifying creature dropped dead. The soldiers gazed at the young girl with amazement. There she stood, staring at the creature, the bloody sword still in her hand. It wasn’t until reality hit that she finally fainted. The soldiers lifted her and carried her back to her worried parents. When Cath awoke, she was embarrassed. Now I’ll never be a knight she thought. But she was wrong. Because of her bravery, she was now considered to be worth enough to train for knighthood. It didn’t matter that she was a girl. All that mattered was her courage. Comments #1. Bella! This is amazing! Good work, young lady.
Skyler Exile #2. Amazing huh? *grins* Thanks Auntie Sky! Isabella Dwyer As soon as the sun rose, she didn't delay. She quickly dressed, slipping on some shorts and a tee over her bikini, before grabbing her surfboard and skateboard. As a last-minute choice, she grabbed a bag, stuffing her diary and her iPod into it, along with her towel and a change of clothes.
"Mum, I'm going surfing!" she yelled as she left the suite. She didn't give Rosa the time to respond. Before long, she was skating towards the beach, a grin already on her face in eager anticipation of the waves. To her surprise, as she arrived on the beach, there was already a crowd gathering. Mostly everyone was waddling in the ocean, or playing beach vollyball. Several groups of people were sunbathing in the early morning sun, or simply hanging out, chatting. Bella frowned and took a blanket out of her bag, spreading it on the sand before sitting there. Suddenly she didn't feel much like surfing. She pouted, looking around and seeing how everyone seemed to have a lot of friend. Much unlike herself! As she got lost in her thoughts, the beach seemed to fade away, until... "Psst!" Bella jumped, startled. When she looked, she noticed Rosa, standing nearby with a lounge chair. "I thought you may want this and some breakfast if you'd be out here all day," said Rosa. "I hope you don't mind if your mum joins you a little later?" Bella couldn't help but smile. She shook her head and replied, "No, I don't mind." "I go get the boys ready and I'll meet you back here," Rosa added. She winked and walked away. Bella smiled and set up her lounge chair, changing out of her shorts and tee, and lying on the lounge chair. She took her iPod out of her bag, and put her headphones over her ears. For now, she'd just relax and listen to a few tunes... Hi, Mrs. Exile. I think you know me. My name is Isabella Kaylee Barthel, and I'm going to be 14 very soon. I have a pretty big family. There's my older sister Amanda, my older brothers Rico and Lorenzo, and my two little brothers Jari and Eli. Then I have quite a few aunts and uncles, and a kobesister, Ella, and a kobemother and father. I was born right in London, my home. Though sometimes I wished I was born in Rio. Currently, my parents are always touring, but I'd much rather stay in London. Luckily, school has started, so after Rio, I'll be back in London. My hobbies are: martial arts, singing, gymnastics, skateboarding, ice-skating, reading, writing, and spending time in nature. There are many more too! Let's see, three things you should know about me? 1) I'm unique 2) I'm left-handed 3) I love to have fun! Comments #1. You forgot brother-teasing *chuckles*
Cecilia Barthel #2. Yes, I know my little Bella. *smiles* Feels funny that you're calling me Mrs.Exile. Did you know I'm left-handed too, Bella? Skyler Exile #3. *grins* Brother-teasing is a bonus, Ceci! Isabella Dwyer #4. Yes, it feels weird, Auntie Sky! And no, I didn't know you were left-handed too. That's cool *smiles widely* Isabella Dwyer #5. That's better. *laughs* See, you and your auntie are the same. I don't have a brother to tease, but I do have a lot of men in my extended family and I love to tease them. Skyler Exile #6. *grins* well I have lots of brothers to tease. Especially as I'm traveling with Jari and Eli *giggles* So, uhm... I should call you Mrs. Exile publicly, right? *smiles* Isabella Dwyer #7. Oh, I know you do, sweetie. Yeah, I guess it would be appropriate. *smiles* Skyler Exile #8. Okidoki, so Mrs. Exile it is! *smiles* Isabella Dwyer |
