It was so strange, her family not being there for the first time when she had a gymnastics meet. But she could deal with it. Taking a deep breath, she stood in the corner of the gymnastics floor, prepared for her final event of the day. The bars had gone well, though not as well as the beam. This event would hopefully be her best of the day. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Isa, sitting up in the bleachers. Her moral support. Mentally, she thanked her BFF for being there, but she immediately re-focused. Putting a big smile on her face, she finally began the last event of the day. Bella re-wined the video once again combing through the clips for what she could improve. What was good. On Sunday would be her gymnastics meet and she was nervous. For the first time, her entire family wouldn't be there to watch her, so that made her even more anxious. Shaking the thought out of her head, she stared at her figure on the television. Luckily she still had one more day to practise. Sweat was dripping down her neck and back as she left the room at the gym after Karate class. Trying to catch her breath, she put her arms atop her head as she made her way to the locker rooms. She had to take a quick shower and call a cab to get her to the next locale.
She enjoyed martial arts, perhaps just as much as she enjoyed gymnastics. Yet she was coming to an age where she would be expected to choose a focus. As she stepped unto the springy floor at her gymnastics school, she drifted into a daze. If she had to choose one sport, which one would she choose? And soon it would be Christmas--she'd have to go to her family and they'll, no doubt, be expecting her to have chosen a musical path by now. Her teeth sank into her lower lip as she pondered this. "Bella, you okay?" someone inquired. Coach Sarah McQueen lay a hand on Bella's shoulder, causing Bella to glance up into her coach's sea green eyes. "Uhuh," said Bella. "Good, then are you ready to warm up? We have a meet to prepare for." Oh, right, the gymnastics meet. Bella smiled and nodded her head. "I'm ready," she said, and she ran off to warm up. All the fuss about getting dressed was so not her 'thing.' She stared at her reflection in the mirror for the longest while, trying to figure out whether her newly-straightened hair should be to the front or to the back. Did it matter? Her dress was white. She would've preferred black, but all the dresses she found in black were either too short, or too girly. This one however, was simple.
Glancing down, she stared at her... Well she wasn't exactly sure what to call her shoes. They weren't quite sneakers, but they weren't exactly flats either. Now all she had to do was wait for Charlie to pick her up. She had no idea what to expect from the night, but she hoped it would be fun. Incredible. The end of the school year had arrived so quickly, and to Bella's dismay, it seemed no one was interested in befriending her. Sure, she had her BFF Isa, but she wanted to be like her peers and have other friends, too. Schoolmates. How hard was it? She'd met a guy on her way home from school one day, but as it seemed to happen with everyone who walked into her life, he'd too soon disappeared.
Bella was beginning to think that there was something undoubtedly wrong with her. Perhaps she was just standoffish. However, as it turned out, she wasn't totally forgettable after all. It was the last week of school, with only a few remaining days when HE came her way again. He'd caught her unawares, but somehow Bella didn't mind. Never in her wildest imagination had she considered going to prom--especially when she figured no one was interested in taking her. Yet, here was her chance. Someone... liked her. Now, she had to make a sacrifice. She had to... dress up. She made a face and closed her eyes as Isa made a few final touches on her hair. Isa turned Bella towards the mirror and said, "Look." For a moment, Bella kept her eyes shut. She didn't know what to expect. Taking a deep breath, she slowly opened her eyes. She stared at her reflection until Isa asked, "So...?" "Wauw," said Bella, blinking. "That's me?" She blinked again, unsure of what to think. It was certainly different. Not bad at all... Hi Mrs. Exile, I did have fun being in your class. Actually, I liked all of the assignments, but I think that my favourite was the one in which you chose one song that represented us. You definitely chose the perfect song out of my top three. This year was my first year back in school; It's been a while since I was in an actual classroom, and I think it was good for me to be back. Ideally, I wanted to make some friends, because I can be a bit of a loner. For a long time it's been only me, my parents, and my siblings. My best friend Isa, is like family to me, and I have a friend named Adrian but we're not as close any longer. Also, I did meet another friend here this year, but he drifted away too. So with that being said, I'm certainly not going to the prom. No one would want to go with me, and I hate dresses anyway, so.. Oh well! Thanks for being my teacher. I did, indeed, learn a lot! ooc: I'll be taking it easy on the messages and rp from now on. At this point, everything in me wants to quit, so to avoid that, I'm just taking it easy. This is a game, therefore it should be easy to 'simply' start over--or so I wish. However, I'm learning more and more every day that things will not go back to they way they were IG... but ideally, I'd like a fresh start on all my chars. At the moment, I truly don't want to play anymore. Right now, this game brings me frustration and sadness, and it just shouldn't be that way. So please forgive me if I seem sleepy on some chars and not on others. Or if I rp with some chars and not others. Don't take it personally. Luckily, some of my chars are perfectly fine and happy :p Thank goodness! Comments #1. Thank you Bella for being in my class. It has been a wonderful year and I have enjoyed being your teacher. I will miss you, but luckily I get to see you other ways too. *smiles* You're an amazing young woman.
Skyler Exile #2. Thanks auntie Sky! I'm looking forward to seeing you more often... I hope :) Isabella Dwyer #3. Oh, I promise you, sweetiepie that we'll see each other more often. Skyler Exile #4. Good. I like that :D Isabella Dwyer Bella paused just outside of the instrument shop. Her entire family consisted of musicians... she was expected to have a chosen instrument, at least. For her older siblings, it'd seemed so simple. Acoustic guitar for Amanda, cello for Rico, turntables for Lorenzo, even her younger brother Eli seemed interested in the piano and at times the guitar. Bella, however, she had no clue. For her, singing had always been a hobby, but could it possibly be a career someday.
She'd just had a conversation with her mother, who was a huge believer on being well-rounded. Sure, she knew Bella wanted to pursue other careers, but she advised Bella, saying that having a musical talent (the family legacy) was a smart option--a backup plan. With a sigh, Bella stepped into the instrument shop. Her head swam with all the instruments surrounding her. It was quite nightmarish actually. After idly gazing around, Bella finally began to really search for "her" instrument. Was she a string girl? Percussion? Woodwinds? After searching through all of the selections, constantly denying the assistance of the shopkeeper, Bella narrowed down her choices to 4 instruments: Bass Guitar, Drums, Electric Guitar, and Violin. She'd have to think on it. Perhaps she needed another trip to the instrument shop. Perhaps another day. |
