She'd known it was coming. She'd been told about it, she'd seen how it affected her sister and her friend, but somehow she was still hoping to somehow be immune. Yet here it was... At first she'd considered it an illness--the upset stomach, the strange pains in her lower belly... But then there was the physical evidence. Scarlet. Obvious. She didn't want to tell anyone, especially not her mum. It was just too embarrassing. At least she knew where to find the right... stuff. She'd concealed the evidence, dumping her soiled clothing in the garbage. Her mum was worried about her. The way Bella had immediately locked herself in the bedroom after unwrapping presents with the family. It was unlike her. Hours later, there came a knock on the door. Rosa eased herself in while Bella buried her face beneath her pillow. "Bella," said Rosa, gently placing a hand on her daughter's shoulder. "There's no need to be ashamed." Bella uncovered her face, looking at her mother in awe. How did she know? Rosa gently stroked Bella's hair and smiled sweetly at her. "Do you want to talk about it?" Bella shook her head, rolling her eyes to conceal the desire to cry. "Just tell me how to deal with it," she said. What she hadn't considered was the 'talk' she'd receive. She sighed and rolled her eyes about a dozen more times. Then, when Rosa finally left, she picked up the phone to contact her BFF. Not for comfort... no. Now she needed to rant. She was changing and she didn't like it. It was the worst Christmas present ever. Comments #1. aaaahwwww no :( poor Bella! wanna come over to spend time together?
