Biting her lip, she set her bag down on the wooden floor of the yoga room. She just needed some time to think... It was New Year's Eve and she had only an hour left before her family celebrated together. But she had something to prove to herself.
With a sigh, she locked the door and gazed around the room. Her eyes locked on the mirror ahead. She'd gotten taller. Her limbs were longer, and her body had trimmed down to a graceful slim. Strange. Now she just seemed awkwardly skinny, ballerina-ish. Gross. Better than being curvy, she guessed. She walked across the room, checking to see if her stride seemed any different. Yet, it didn't. Her stride was still one of a girl who preferred to hop onto a skateboard rather than walk. A bit absentmindedly, she began to stretch. In the last few days, she'd been pretty much stagnant, sitting or lying around all day. She simply didn't have the desire to move, nor the energy... especially considering the ache in her lower belly. She shuddered, shaking the thoughts out of her head. She had to prove to herself that she was still... well, herself. She glanced at the mirror again before cartwheeling. Her cartwheel was followed by a round off and a spurt of backflips. She still had it! If there was one thing about herself that she didn't want to lose, it was her flexibility. There was a time when she'd dreamt of being in the circus. She could contort in so many different odd positions, most considered impossible. Now, she had no desire to be in the circus. Did that mean something had changed? Was she really turning into that 'young woman' as her mother said. She frowned at her reflection. Oh please don't let anything else change in this new year... she prayed. She sighed and stretched a bit more. Well... at least, despite the strange bodily changes, she still had her flexibility. Thank Kobe...
