Christmas was never that interesting in Bella’s eyes, but she truly tried this year. Hot cocoa and gingerbread pancakes made by yours truly. This time she got to serve her little sis instead of the other way around. Outside of the little apartment in Notting Hill, there was a thin blanket of snow on the ground. Nothing to be too excited about.
“We really should get our bums to the States to meet little Lucie,” Bella mentioned in the afternoon. “After dinner with Ayden,” she added. Belie made kissy sounds, but Bella only rolled her eyes and nudged her. “Just be ready for when I get back. Remember our flight—“ “Is at 21.00, I know, I know,” Belie said. Now it was her turn to roll her eyes. Bella gave her thumbs up and retreated to the bedroom to get dressed for dinner. She stepped back into the living room moments later with a gigantic package held in her hands. “What the…?” Belie looked at her as though she was crazy. “It’s a snowboard. Perfect gift for my skateboarding buddy, don’t you think?” she asked. She chuckled and quickly bid Belie farewell before heading out. It was always nice seeing Ayden, as sad as he was these days, he was always great to talk to. Sadly, she couldn’t stay because New York awaited them. Or at least their family did. A plane ride and a bit of a nap later, Belie and Bella were at Rico and Ceci’s place. Lucie was tucked in, within her crib, but both sides of the family continued to celebrate Christmas in the living room. Rico led Bella to the bedroom where Lucie slept soundly. Her nursery was a dream in white and purple, something Bella actually found cute. And even cuter was her niece. Bella smirked. “Okay, she’s pretty cute,” she said. And so little. So innocent. Totally worth the trip.
