It wasn't the typical mushy, lovey-dovey valentine's day. Yet, as Amanda admired her two loved ones from ashore, she realised she didn't want to celebrate in any other way. In the quietude of the beach, the sun sinking into the ocean, the waves gently caressing the sand, Amanda felt at peace with life. In fact, she felt blessed.
Niels couldn't be a better father, and Emi would readily agree. Amanda watched as Niels and Emi strolled hand in hand along the incoming tides, Emi chatting away as usual. Amanda observed the way Niels gave his undivided attention to their little girl. The way his face lit up at her chatter. Amanda chuckled. She knew how much of a chatterbox Emi could be at times, even when all of her words weren't clear. Still, Niels was as patient as the virtue itself. There was no doubt that Emi would grow up, knowing what to expect when it came time for her to court. As much as Amanda hated to think of her little girl being of dating age, she somehow knew that Emi's standards would be high. After all, her daddy was her first love.
