Niels and Amanda stood in the kitchen, their eyes skimming over the boxes surrounding them. They both beamed. Here they were, moved in to their new penthouse apartment. 4 bedrooms, 3 and a half bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, and dining room. It was a dream come true. A new place to start their new lives together, a place to raise children.
For the longest moment, they both stood there, stagnant among the boxes, just taking in reality. Amanda became aware of her olfactory senses--the penthouse had a clean, new scent. Lifting her face slightly, she inhaled. At last, she moved, her fingertips brushing gently over the marble kitchen countertop. Oh how she loved this place. Shed just gotten lost in the texture of the marble before she felt Niels' arm slide gently around her waist. He pressed a tender kiss to her shoulder and whispered, "Wanna start with the bedroom?" A soft giggle escaped Amanda's lips. She caught a glimpse of the playful glint in Niels' eyes and nodded in response to his proposition. "Sounds like a great idea," she whispered back. She smiled, pecking his cheek before taking his hand. They walked across the newly polished wooden floors to the carpet in their bedroom. "Oh and baby?" said Amanda, closing the bedroom door. "Happy Valentine's Day."

With a sigh of relief, Amanda place the final addressed invitation in the 'finished' pile. She beamed at Niels as she massaged the stiffness out of her hand. They'd spent hours upon hours addressing invitations to potential guests. Now, it was finally over. She scribbled one final note on a small piece of scrap paper and gave Niels an overly-innocent smile.
Crawling into his lap, she laced her fingers with his. Even now, there were moments when she could barely take her eyes away from her engagement ring. It was a testament to things yet to come. Great things. Still, there was a small pang in her chest as she knew they had to be prepared for a few intentional declines. It was already given that everyone would not be happy for them. But it was okay. Everything was going to be okay. Shaking any lingering negative thoughts out of her head, she pressed the small note into Niels' hand. With the monotonous drone of the engine, she felt herself drifting off to sleep. Glancing through the window for a moment, she blinked, unable to see a thing. It was dark, but they were somewhere in the midst of clouds anyway. She stifled a yawn with her hand and turned to look at Niels. He'd already dozed off, an earbud of his iPod dangling from one ear. She giggled softly, gently reaching across him to remove the other earbud.
She took the moment to admire his handsome face. Fighting the temptation to caress his cheek, she rolled the hedphones around his iPod and turned it off before slipping it into their carry on. A content sigh left her lips as she wrapped an arm around him, her head finding rest against his strong shoulder. Soon, they would be in Antalya with the rest of the family. A smile blossomed on her face, her eyes automatically shifting to catch the diamond that shimmered on her ring finger. It still didn't cease to amaze her... she was really engaged. And tomorrow, they would be officially announcing it in front of everyone. Another smile. She seemed unable to hold them back lately. Quite frankly, her cheeks were getting sorer, and she couldn't care less. With a soft chuckle, she closed her eyes and after a while, drifted off to sleep, dreaming of being reunited with her beloved family. It was a pleasant surprise--everyone had gotten along magnificently at the impromptu Christmas party. As dinner was served, close friends and family gathering around at the tables, it came time for them to make the big announcement. Amanda's cheeks reddened just from the mere act of standing before of everyone. She nuzzled closer to Niels side, gazing up at him. "You say it," she whispered. Niels, not being one to beat around the bush, chuckled and looked around before saying, "Amanda and I would like to tell you all that we're engaged... it's true." Everyone there was so happy for them. It was... a relief. And to see them all again... it certainly lifted her spirits. Now, they were back home in New York. Their apartment was just as they'd left it, thanks to the housekeeper. With a warm smile, Amanda handed Niels a mug of hot cocoa and sat beside him on the couch. "Merry Christmas, my handsome fiance," she whispered. "Merry Christmas, my beautiful fiancee." Amanda beamed, putting her feet up on the coffee table. It certainly was the perfect Christmas this year. She couldn't have wished for a better day. Hand in hand, at the top floor of the Eiffel tower, they gazed at the city beneath them. A breathtaking view. A map that appeared so simple when looking at the big picture. They knew, however, that down below, in the City of Love, it was far from simple. Beautifully architectured buildings towered over magnificent gardens and glistening ponds. Amanda continued to stare at the view from the top floor of the Eiffel tower. She could hardly believe that so much wonder existed just below them. “What was your favourite part of the day?” Niels inquired, pulling her from her thoughts. Amanda continued to gaze at the view, thinking about how she could choose her favourite part of such wonderful day. Yet it was simple. It was in the gardens of the Palais du Luxembourg—at the pond where there were dozens of children playing with toy boats—where Amanda had gotten lost in her dreams. Sitting atop Niels’ lap, she’d gazed at the children playing, her imagination creating her very own family. Niels’ gentle kiss brought her back to the present, atop the Eiffel tower. “I liked sitting near the pond, thinking of our future...” she responded at last. Niels smiled. “Hmmmm well, I’m glad you liked that, ‘cause so did I... It made me think. So ehmmmm baby, I gotta ask you something...” He looked into her eyes as his hand suddenly reached into his pocket. Kneeling in front of her, he held a box with a dazzling diamond ring and asked, “Amanda Pontremoli, would you marry me?” Amanda clasped her hands over her mouth in utter surprise, her eyes widening. For a moment, she was completely lost for words. Slowly, she regained her composure, finding the ability to nod her head before she could speak up, ecstatic tears and all. “Yes… yes… absolutely, yes!” Finally! Comments #1. Congrats Amanda! Make your dreams come true, sweet sister.
Ambra Pontremoli #2. Thank you, sis! Amanda van Loon It's almost hard to believe that we've been together for 10 years. An entire decade ago, we first met. This year, we're spending our 10th anniversary in the City of Love. The city brings back so many memories for Niels and I. It was here we first officially announced that we were a couple. That was back in our days of childhood romance. Things have changed so much! Happy anniversary, my love. Ti amo... um.. Je t'aime! ooc: I'll be taking it easy on the messages and rp from now on. At this point, everything in me wants to quit, so to avoid that, I'm just taking it easy. This is a game, therefore it should be easy to 'simply' start over--or so I wish. However, I'm learning more and more every day that things will not go back to they way they were IG... but ideally, I'd like a fresh start on all my chars. At the moment, I truly don't want to play anymore. Right now, this game brings me frustration and sadness, and it just shouldn't be that way. So please forgive me if I seem sleepy on some chars and not on others. Or if I rp with some chars and not others. Don't take it personally. Luckily, some of my chars are perfectly fine and happy :p Thank goodness!
-the girl behind Rosa, Amanda, Rico, Bella and Eli Hand in hand they walked to the temple together. As the wedding ceremony unfolded, they gave each other occasional exchanges of loving gazes, a squeeze of the hand, a subtle kiss. Each of them knew what the other was thinking. Amanda followed Niels' gaze to the altar where the bride and groom stood. As the wedding ceremony ended, everyone stood for the procession.
"That was a beautiful ceremony, huh?" Amanda whispered. Niels turned and kissed her softly before a smile touched his lips. "Yeah it was, baby," he replied. "You were the most beautiful thing of all." Amanda laughed softly and slid his hand into his. Once again, hand in hand, they walked back down the aisle and left the temple. ...for now. Congratulations Aaron and Lilith from Niels and I! Thank you for the wedding invite, and may you two have many happy years together. |
