Hello ballerinas and ballet dancers. Welcome back to class. I don’t know how many of you remember our lesson on different types of ballet, but today’s lesson is a little similar to that one. Sometimes ballet portrays different cultures, at least in contemporary styles. For example: a ballet about an African princess may have some elements of African dance. Or maybe a ballet about Princess Jasmine from Aladdin might have some Arabian styles. These are examples of fusion ballet and is really fun to watch and dance too. What culture do you think would be really cool combined with ballet? You can’t use African or Indian. *laughs* Feel free to think of Disney movies. Always useful and Miss Amanda loves Disney! Make sure you attach a picture too.
Next week will be our last class. It will also be my last day at the New York Schools so we’re going to have a little recital and a big after party with cupcakes and cookies. See you all then!
