Family Essay by Amanda Pontremoli I've learned a lot about family. It's more than blood or genetics. It's about love and people who care about you. When I was three years old, I met my adopted mother. I spent some time with her, and I really liked her, but I missed my mommy. Even though I still miss her sometimes, my mum is Rosa. Sure, she didn't carry me in her belly, but she took care of me. And Roy, he took care of me too, so he's like a father to me. My daddy is still alive, and I love him. He came to my recital in London and I was so happy that he did that. It meant a lot to me. My mum doesn't have parents. Her daddy died a long time ago, and her mommy too. She doesn't have any real brothers and sisters but she has people who she considers family, like Auntie Angel, and Auntie Sky, and Auntie Bry. Auntie Bry and mum call each other "sis" all the time! And her stepson, Niels, is very close to me too. Maybe one day we'll be a family ;) It's sad when a family splits up. My mama Rosa and Roy just got a divorce. But they still talk. Except now, sometimes Rico, Lorenzo and Bella are with Roy and me and Jari stay with mum. I hate to see my mum so sad sometimes, but she says everything will be alright. I sure hope so. Family is very special. Friends can walk away from you, but families last forever... even when they're gone. Comments #1. So true... never underestimate the value of family. A lot of people lose sight of just how important it is.
Alex Nolan #2. Yup... I noticed that people undrestimate it. So sad... Amanda van Loon #3. I hope we will be a family one day ;) Niels van Loon #4. ;) Amanda van Loon
