Niels smiled, looking at the house after everyone had gone back home. Only some of their siblings remained, helping them to clean up. The birthday party for Emi had been a smashing success, or so he believed. What he couldn't believe however, was that his little baby girl already was two. How much it seemed like yesterday when he had first held her in his arms, very carefully, wanting to keep her safe from all harm. He still wanted to do so, and to himself he swore he always would, but he had to smile at the little bit of an adventurous side she already possessed. She sure was a hands full, but luckily, she still was sweet and very clingy to him and Amanda. He wasn't sure to who she took most of a liking, but whether it was to him or to his Amanda, he didn't mind, for they both loved her equally, or so his heart told him. ![]() As he was smiling, his gaze fell upon Amanda. She was relaxing, and she deserved that. All they long, she had been running around to keep both kids and adults entertained. A joy filled his heart, feeling blessed by the fact his wife was so amazing. She as the best mother he knew, and she took care of Emi so well, no matter if she was throwing a tantrum or not. She and Emi were his family, his own family... And he would always lovee them and take care of them, he had always wanted that, ever since the day Amanda had walked into his life. He walked up to Amanda, kissing her gently before taking her hand in his own. He gave it a little squeeze, pulling her with him towards Emi's bedroom. As they entered, he notived she was sleeping soundly, tired out by the party. He walked up to her crib, hugging Amanda from behind while looking at their little one with a wide smile. Softly he whispered: "Happy birthday little princess... Mummy and daddy love you..." The little leap his heart made showed him he was right, and he was happy he was...
