Niels just had to smile, looking at Angelo in the park. He was having a lot of fun, running around, playing with his sister and trying things on his own. Slowly, he was learning how to use his arm that had the injury more and more, and Niels was extremely pleased all of the therapy the little man had gone through was working. As Niels looked at Amanda, he could see the same amount of proud feelings in her, watching their little angel explore the park, barely leaving his sister's side.
When they had been at the park for a few hours, Niels smiled and called for the kids. He told them it was time to go home, winking at Amanda. Emi frowned, asking him why they had to go already. She certainly had some energy left, and she wanted to play more, climb more, explore more. In addition to all of this, Angelo gave Niels and Amanda his best puppy eyes, trying to make them do what Emi asked, so he too could play more. But Niels shook his head, whispering to Emi that they had to go home since Angelo hadn't had his cake yet. He was answered by a short 'oooooh' from Emi, after which she tried helping to convince Angelo to go home. Once they got home, Niels quickly asked Amanda to set the table, while Emi went to entertain her little brother, playing with Ghost. Niels grinned, being glad their daughter knew how to take care of her brother. After all preparations were made, they put Angelo in his high chair. Niels brought in the cake while Amanda and Emi were singing. This made Angelo gasp and look around, squealing in excitement when he saw the cake approach. Now, Niels knew, the day was complete, and Angelo officially was three years old...

Niels smiled, looking at his kids as they were lying on the bed. Both of them were looking at the book Niels and Amanda had got them. It made him smile more when Emi randomly started reading extracts from her book with a relative ease. He knew both of the kids had taken it quite well when Niels and Amana had announced this new pregnancy to them. But how much did the little man actually knew of it, he wondered?
As the two of them looked on, Niels took some pictures, being touched by the sight of them being there together. How had these two kids evolved so quickly. It just felt like yesterday when he first held Emi in his arms, and now she was already over 6 years of age. She was a clever little girl, always trying to read and constantly begging him to help her learn new things. Angelo also was growing up, and he was getting quite eloquent for a kid of his age. He still was suffering from his injury, but he was getting there. And Niels knew he would be a good big brother, but should he not be one immediately, Niels was sure Emi would help him accept the new baby. Just as he sighed, Angelo looked at him from behind his book. "Dada, he'p re'd??" he asked, giving Niels his best puppy eyes. Niels laughed softly and looked at him. "Ask your sister Angelo," he said. Angelo nodded and looked at Emi. "Sis, he'p pwease?" he asked before giggling. Emi smiled widely and cuddled up to him, reading the title to him. "I'm a big brother!" she read, giggling at him as she flipped the page. Angelo nodded and looked at her proudly: "You be big sis, I be big bwotho! I be happy..." he said, looking at Emi proudly before looking at Niels again, "Whe'e mama, I wa'a hug baby, like sis..." After this, he giggled again. Niels smiled as Amanda answered, putting his hand on her belly. This moment was perfect... |
