As Niels had arrived in New York city, he had been happy. He had seen his family over Christmas and announced the engagement, and everyone had reacted surprisingly well. And then he and Amanda had come to New York, home...
He and Amanda had decided their wedding would take place here, in the town they had first called home. The city was perfect to them, perfect to host their wedding. It hadn't taken long for him and Amanda to decide on a date, except for some small discussions. But they had found a compromise, and the church was booked. Now, they actually had something to look forward to, a set date, a minister that wanted to perform their wedding, and Niels knew he had a girl who was willing to marry him. He was a happy man, even though he sometimes missed his family. Yet he hoped he would see his family, the people he cared about, soon, and he hoped they would be there when he got married. If not, so be it, but they would be in his mind and in his heart. Family remained family, whether they loved him or hated him. He would always love all of them... As Amanda walked in with a stack of envelopes, Niels had to smile. He knew it was time to write the invites for the wedding... It made him a little nervous, but it was something he needed, and he was willing to beat that nervosity...
