Although Emi wasn't able to celebrate her seventh birthday on her actual birthdate, she was happy to meet her baby sister. Elia was so teeny; like a baby doll almost. Looking at her sister made Emi want to dress her up in pretty clothes and do her hair, not that she had a lot of hair.
Her mummy said that Elia was fragile though. That she had to be careful with her; hold her softly, lightly. Which wasn't so hard so Emi didn't mind. Emi had been more than happy just holding Elia and sometimes helping with her diaper. It was nice having a baby sister and that was enough for her. But then on a couple of days later, her family was there to celebrate her birthday. Emi was having fun playing with her cousins and her brother and her aunts and uncles, but while she was at the park, she missed her little sister. She wanted to be there to give her hugs and kisses and to look at her while her mummy or daddy changed her clothes. In the middle of playing on the swings, she jumped off and ran to her daddy. "Daddy," she said. "I want to go home and check on Elia. I miss her. I love this party and all my gifts, but Elia is the best birthday present ever."
