Angelo was sitting in the family room, staring at what his mum called ‘the family ship’. The notion made Angelo laugh a little. He had loved his gift, and the time he had spent with his family had been fun, but at times he felt a little weird. His mum still treated him as if he were a baby, and his dad didn’t give him any time to do anything on his own. It made him feel embarrassed at times, the way his parents acted. Especially when they were around their family. Like the way his mum and grandmother always seemed to talk about how nice they were growing up, or how cute they were. He didn’t get why they thought he was so cute. There was nothing cute about him! After all he wasn’t a baby any more. At the same time, Angelo felt happy to have a family like his. After all, they had taken him out to sea for the majority of a day for his tenth birthday, just like that. And they allowed him to collect ships, something some kids would probably think is strange. And they were always there for him, every time his arm even as much as hurt a little. So he decided to make his parents something, just for them. He ran to his room, grabbing some of his Lego. He quickly built something, and he placed it next to the ship. Angelo just had to smile, looking at the ship, with the Lego in front of it. He knew it might look a bit stupid, especially to a bigger kid like Emi, but he knew it was the best way he could say thank you. And he knew his parents would like it. Or he hoped so at least. After all, even when he was a big boy, he knew they loved him. And he loved them just as much. Even when they made him feel embarrassed all the time.
